UMBRAL There is a Way is a new piece by pataSola dance exploring life, death and spirituality through a collage of dance, poetry, photography, video, light, music and textiles. In this multidisciplinary performance, PataSola Dance continues to investigate the Marvelous Reality, Butoh and contemporary dance. Umbral explores themes that reflect our social, political and spiritual values today. It is a commentary on the reality of war, destruction and violence in the world caused by greed in the pursuit of power. Join artists Candelario Andrade, Salome Nieto, Eduardo Meneses-Olivar, Celine Pinget, Shauna Paull, Jaylene Pratt, Andreas Schuld, Katherine Soucie, Taylor Janzen and Xin Xuan Song.
This multidisciplinary dance performance is co-presented by pataSola dance and the Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre through the City of Vancouver and the Roundhouse Community Centre, and with the generous support of the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, the British Columbia Arts Council and the Province of British Columbia.
