Multiplier Grants – Ongoing
- This is a call for applications for the multiplier grants program ($8,000-$10,000). The goal of these grants it to foster success with external grants. Money can be used for matching funds, small workshops at UBC, knowledge mobilization, student research assistants, and more. As part of the award, the recipient will meet with two cluster members with extensive SSHRC evaluation experience and with the SPARC office to discuss their draft application with an eye to finalizing that grant application in advance of a 2026 application.
- Eligibility: All co-applicants of the Latin American and Caribbean Landscapes Cluster. While applicants for this grant must be co-applicants of the VPRI Landscapes Grant, applications can include members of the UBC LAS community as co-applicants.

Matching Funds Grant – Ongoing
- This is a call for applications for matching funding ($6,000-$12,000) to support applications for SSHRC Connection Grants.
- Eligibility: all co-applicants of the Latin American and Caribbean Landscapes Cluster. While applicants for this grant must be co-applicants of the VPRI Landscapes Grant, applications can include members of the UBC LAS community as co-applicants.

Seed grants – September 30, 2025
- This is a call for applications for seed funding ($1,000-$3,500) to support knowledge mobilization for projects related to the Latin American and Caribbean Landscapes Cluster.
- Eligibility: all co-applicants of the Latin American and Caribbean Landscapes Cluster and all student members of the PhD Seminar. While the applicant must be one of the co-applicants of the VPRI grant or students in the PhD Seminar, applications can include members of the UBC LAS community.

Latin American Landscapes Speaker Series – Fall/Winter 2025-26
- This is an invitation to all co-applicants of the Latin American and Caribbean Landscapes cluster and all student members of the PhD Seminar to submit nominations for visiting speakers for the 2025-26 academic year.

Mitacs Globalink Research Award – March 1, 2026
- This is a call for applications for internal nominations for the Mitacs Globalink Research Award ($6,000+$2,000) for student-led research projects with an academic partner and non-academic partner in a country in Latin America for 12-16 weeks (up to 25% can be completed in Vancouver).
- Eligibility: All UBC PhD students who are members of the LAS PhD seminar. Preference will be given to those who regularly attend meetings and to first time applicants.
