The students of History 357, “History of Mexico” (taught by Bill French), built an altar for Day of the Dead in the lobby of Buchanan Tower, which was then up for several days, until November 4, 2014.
This was a bi-national altar honouring the Canadian soldiers recently killed as well as the 70,000 killed and 30,000 disappeared in Mexico since 2006. It featured artists’ drawings of the 43 students disappeared recently from Ayotzinapa, asking, as have many in Mexico and around the world, for them to be returned alive.
