25 years ago, Guatemalan death squads disappeared ten activists of the Association of University Students of the University of San Carlos. The tortured bodies of four were found days later on the university campus. The fate of the others has never been uncovered. It was this horrendous act that led to the creation of BC CASA, and in our first years our main objective was to discover the fate of the students with whom we made contact only shortly before their abduction.
We do not forget these brave young people, whose light was snuffed out by the forces of Hate. Join us at the Heartwood September 20 to celebrate their lives and honour their struggle.
