Spring 2015 Sessional Lectureship: Latin American Popular Culture
The Program in Latin American Studies invites applications for a part-time Sessional lectureship for Spring 2015 (the 2014 Winter Session, Term 2: Jan – Apr 2015) in the teaching of the following 3-credit course:
LAST 201 section 101: Popular Culture in Latin America
This course covers: “The culture of everyday life, both rural and urban: issues of identity, popular memory, resistance, negotiation, as expressed through ritual, crafts, the body, social movements, films, music, and literature.”
Classes are scheduled on: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:00 to 3:30pm.
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant discipline and preference will be given to applicants with post-secondary teaching experience and a record that provides evidence of teaching effectiveness. Applicants from both inside and outside UBC are encouraged.
Applicants should include with their letter of application a CV which includes a record of experience and a detailed list of all post-secondary courses taught including name, length, credit value, and teaching responsibilities; a sample course outline and syllabus; evidence of teaching effectiveness; two confidential letters of reference sent directly to the Program from the referees.
