Have you ever wanted to learn about Latin American film and culture? Here is your chance! For the third year running, the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival is giving students the opportunity to be part of their Youth Jury, a group of post-secondary students aged 18 to 30 that screen films during the Festival in September and will select 2013’s Youth Choice Award!
The students selected for this year’s Jury will be recognized in the Festival’s catologue and will receive a FULL Festival pass (for free), including invitations to both the opening and closing gala ceremonies.
To be considered for a place on this year’s Youth Jury, you must attend one (free) screening of last year’s films (paid for by VLAFF), and write a 500-word essay on the movie. Jury members will be selected based on quality of work, academic experience, and interest in Latin American culture and film.
There will be opportunities to attend screenings on March 19th and April 16th.
If you would like to participate in this year’s Youth Jury, please access the Application Form and contact youthjury@vlaff.org to let us know which screening you will be attending, as spaces will be limited.
For more information, please feel free to contact us on Facebook, at youthjury@vlaff.org, or call the VLAFF office at (604) 708-5657.
