BrazilFest is a festival of Brazilian arts and culture held in downtown Vancouver on Granville St, between Robson and Dunsmuir, where an expected 17,000 to 20,000 people will gather on August 18 th, 2012, from 9am to 8pm. The festival will showcase the best Brazil has to offer in music, dance, food and film. It includes a feast of rhythms and music in downtown Vancouver and screenings of Brazilian movies (provided by VLAFF).
We will promote Brazil’s uniqueness by sharing our cuisine, lifestyle and culture, a culture that complements the diverse mosaic that makes up Canada.
Last year, the festival raised funds to support the Vila Isabel Charitable Society in Brazil, which is making a difference to the lives of children in Citrolandia in Minas Gerais by fostering their development and improving their living conditions.
This year, it is the Brazilian Community Association’s board of directors’ turn to organize the festival. Once again keeping the summer alive for all Brazilians and lovers of the Brazilian culture and for all other cultures to enjoy.
