Weaving Solidarity is an innovative fourth-year community-service learning seminar in the Department of Geography at UBC. Our student community explores the politics and ethics of North-South solidarity in both theory and practice. We are working in collaboration with community partners from Jolom Maya’etik and la mano, a Vancouver-based social enterprise. Our objective is to work in conversation with sociopolitical, cultural and linguistic borders in order to form concrete and viable initiatives that support the cooperativeʼs goals.
